Uniport Lecturers bag Marketing Fellowship
Five Lecturers in the Department of Marketing at the University of Port Harcourt have been conferred Fellowship awards by the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria.
The Fellowship is the highest professional qualification for individual membership who has attended greater height and contributed to the growth of the marketing Profession .
The Institute is chartered by Act of parliament number 25 of 2003 to regulate the practice of marketing in all ramifications in Nigeria. Its professional qualification includes , Associate,member and Fellow.
Among the lecturers are Prof Chinedu Ogbuji, who is currently the Associate Dean of school of Graduate studies , University of Port Harcourt, Prof Doris Godwin-Ademe is currently the Deputy Director of the School of Basic Studies ,Prof Sunny Igwe is the immediate past Head of Department Marketing , University of Port Harcourt,Dr Doris Nenanya is senior Lecturer and Dr Lawrence Bekwele Dike who recently was conferred with the fellowship of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations and serves as Secretary of the institute in Port and Chairman of the Advertising Practitioners’ Association Port Harcourt chapter.
The Port Harcourt chapter of the institute also won the most improved chapter in the country while it’s Chairman,Dr Evelyn Nwosu,a Fellow of the institute and Zonal Director of NTA Port Harcourt Network centre was conferred with award of excellence for her thought leadership role in developing the institute.
The Outgone President IDY Enang Fnimn charged Fellows to renew their commitment to the development of the marketing industry and conduct research that will advance marketing education and mentoring for younger Practitioners’.
The award of Fellowship on deserving members was the climax of the Annual marketing conference and AGM which also ushered in the election of the first Female President of the Institute.
