Tantita Security Services Seals Sapele Filling Stations for Illegally Selling Unrefined Condensate

Warri_In a swift response to credible intelligence, Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL) has sealed several petrol filling stations in the Abeke Road/Ugberikoko Road area of Sapele, Delta State.

The move, carried out in collaboration with government security agencies, follows an investigation into allegations that the stations were selling unrefined condensate—a dangerous and unlicensed substance—to the unsuspecting public.

In a statement released by the company’s management, Tantita clarified that the closures were part of a legitimate security operation aimed at curbing illegal activities within the oil and gas sector.

Condensate, a gaseous component of crude oil, is not licensed for use as fuel and can cause severe damage to vehicle engines and other petrol-driven equipment. Its presence at a filling station is a strong indicator of illegal activity, as sellers must have obtained it unlawfully from a crude oil platform.

“In line with her mandate, Tantita SSNL received intelligence that some filling stations within the Abeke axis in Sapele had received and were selling condensate as petrol,” the management statement read. “Our officials communicated this intelligence to government security agencies who visited the filling stations in company of our team and sealed up the suspected premises, to enable them carry out proper investigation and tests of the products collected in the process.”

Preliminary test results have already confirmed that two of the sealed stations were indeed selling the illegal condensate. The investigation and product testing are ongoing. Tantita’s management affirmed that any station not found to be in violation will be reopened immediately.
