PDP South South Zonal Secretary Denies Report of Expulsion

Yenagoa___The South South Zonal Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Chairman of the party’s Caretaker Committee in Bayelsa State, Hon. George Turnah, MON, has refuted reports claiming he has been expelled from the party, describing them as “fake, baseless, and a pitiful display of desperation.”
In a statement issued on Sunday by Kelvin Egbo, Media Assistant to the South South Zonal Secretary and Acting Chairman of the PDP in Bayelsa State, Turnah said the claim—circulated across conventional and social media—was nothing more than the handiwork of “political opportunists and mischief-makers.”
“This news is entirely fake and baseless. It is nothing more than a pitiful display of desperation from certain political opportunists and mischief-makers within the Party,” Turnah said. “Such claims hold no merit and can be dismissed as good radiance to bad rubbish.”
He further clarified that the PDP has not held any legitimate national convention since 2022, when the party nominated its presidential candidate for the 2023 elections.
“There has not been any legitimate PDP National Convention held anywhere in Nigeria since 2022,” he stated, noting that the party’s constitution provides a detailed disciplinary framework that guarantees fair hearing—procedures that were never initiated against him.
Reaffirming his position and loyalty within the PDP, Turnah insisted he remains a bona fide member and a duly elected official of the party.
“I remain committed to the ideals of the Party. My loyalty to the National Leader of the PDP and Honourable Minister of the FCT, H.E. Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON, is steadfast and unshakeable,” he said.
The statement urged party faithful and the general public to disregard the report in its entirety.
