SPELLING BEE 12TH EDITION:Eight Year Old Miss Superior Blessing Emerges winner

Yenagoa___Eight-year-old Miss Superior Blessing Ufouma has emerged winner of the primary category of the 2025 Bayelsa Spelling Bee after a keenly contested competition held in Yenagoa last Thursday.
Miss Superior received three hundred thousand naira and several gift items, including a school bag, scrabble board, and dictionary.
Miss Meme Elora, the second-place winner got one hundred thousand naira, while Miss Owie Tamaratonye, the third-place winner received fifty thousand naira, along with gift items for both. Consolation prizes were also given to other participants.
Speaking to newsmen, Superior Blessing expressed joy over her victory, saying she was grateful to God and proud to make her parents happy and thanked everyone who supported her.
Dr. Ebidenyefa Tarila-Nikade, the Convener said the Spelling Bee aims to create a platform for young people to express themselves and discover their potential. She noted that the event boosts confidence, sharpens intellect, and improves literacy, especially in written communication and correct pronunciation using standardized dictionaries.
Also speaking, Mr. Ibrahim Omo-Otriti, said the Head of Administration for Spelling Bee Bayelsa, described this 12th edition as highly competitive and encouraged participants to keep improving, noting that not winning does not define intelligence.
