The people of a riverine community, Anibeze in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State have raised alarm over the devastating effects of landslides and flooding occasioned by coastal erosion.
The community is on a stretch of the Forcados river which spread across the Niger Delta region.
In their save our souls message,
the people said they no longer have enough land as a result of the devastating coastal erosion that has affected a good percentage of its landmass and has swept away several buildings that have continued.
They said the situation is causing fear and uncertainty in the minds of inhabitants who have no elsewhere to go.
However, the natives of Anibeze are appealing to the relevant authorities particularly, the State Government to come to their aid before they have no place to call homes.
