Fresh facts weekend emerged on how Police Operatives attached to the Security Outfit, Operation Puff Adder led by Supol Chris Nwaogbo arrested 34 years old Sineme Dankaba, the leader of the notorious gang of kidnappers that launched a deadly Wednesday attack on the Lion of Judah Deliverance Church at Azikoro town, killing four persons including a pregnant wife and her husband.

It was gathered that the operatives of Operation Puff Adder led arrested the leader of the killer gang leader on Thursday and recovered the assault rifle used in the killing.

The arrest of the leader of the killer gang, who was later identified as the President of the Youth Association of Swali Community, has elicited jubilation over the response time of the Bayelsa Police Command under the new Commissioner of Police, Mike Okoli.

Security sources confirmed that after a gun battle with the gunmen on Wednesday night, the operatives of the Operation Puff Adder tracked the gang leader through some personal belonging recovered at the site of the killing and stormed his residence.

“At the residence, we did not meet him. But we saw his sister and brother at home. They were trying to wash the blood stained shirt suspected to have been worn during the church invasion. Through the two suspects, we arrested him. He later took us to a fish pond at the back of his house and we recovered one of the assault rifles used in the deadly attack.”
On the reasons for the killer attack, the senior security source revealed that the arrested gang leader claimed that they were provoked to launch the deadly attack on the church because they suspected that members of the church were responsible for the information which led to the Operation Puff Adder Monday swoop on their camp in the forest of Azikoro town.

Confirming the arrest, the spokesman of the Bayelsa Police Command, Asinim Butswat, the gang leader who was arrested on 6th of August, 2020, later confessed to the crime and took the Police team to a hideout, where an AK 47 riffle and 10 rounds of Ammunition used in the operation was recovered in the early hours of today.

“The suspect is cooperating with the Police in the investigation. The Commissioner of Police CP Mike Okoli , has deployed additional detectives to fish out the other fleeing gang members”.
